Canadians pout at Victoria’s Secret news
Victoria’s Secret bras and panties aren’t likely to be available in La Senza stores (TSX:LSZ) despite its U.S. parent company’s deal to buy the Canadian lingerie retailer.
La Senza will continue to operate independently and there also aren’t any immediate plans for Victoria’s Secret to open its own stores in Canada, Laurence Lewin, president and chief operating officer of the Montreal-based company, said Thursday.
"The short answer is there’s no particular plan for Victoria’s Secret coming to Canada," Lewin told a conference call.
Asked if La Senza and Victoria’s Secret could co-exist in the Canadian market, Lewin replied: "There’s a lot less lingerie stores in Canada than there are fashion and clothing stores. It’s possible, but it’s not part of this strategy. I don’t think anybody is thinking about it at this time."…

Pantyhose sales are down
Pantyhose sales are down… people just don’t want to wear them anymore.

"The casualization of the workplace, it is not as strict as before," said Romaine Sargent, vice president and general manager of marketing for hosiery at Hanesbrands. "Women have more options and some are choosing to wear sheer hosiery less."
According to the company, women ages 25 to 54 wear pantyhose an average of 1.8 times a week, down from 3.5 times a week a decade ago. Kate Moss may pull out of lingerie deal
British supermodel Kate Moss is reportedly threatening to pull out of a lingerie deal over personal issues.
The 32-year-old model, who reportedly also pulled out of a recent children's cancer charity lunch, is considering dropping out of a deal with lingerie label Agent Provocateur over a personal issue, the Mail on Sunday said.
Moss reportedly is furious that the company's owner, Serena Rees, recently ran off with The Clash bassist Paul Simonon, who happens to be married to one of Moss's friends.
"Kate is furious with Serena and thinks her behavior is appalling," a source told the paper. "Kate is now picking up the pieces for her best friend Tricia, who was married to Paul. Their whole circle of friends has just collapsed.
"Kate was planning more promotional films for Agent Provocateur, but because of Serena's behavior she is threatening to pull out," the source added. ...

Jordan: I’ll never give up glamour modelling
Jordan has revealed she has no plans to retire from glamour modelling and will keep having cosmetic surgery to maintain her looks as she ages.
She has been busy recently launching a lingerie range under her real name Katie Price but she told OK magazine recently that she will be returning to her day job soon enough: “I’m doing a proper glamour shoot really soon and I can’t wait. Victoria Beckham and Jennifer Lopez are launching a lingerie range together.
The Latin star is said to be very "excited" about the prospect of working with the former Spice Girl, after they discussed design ideas at Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes' wedding last Saturday (19.11.06).
A source told Britain's Daily Star newspaper: "Jennifer thought Victoria was a real character and very much hopes they can stay friends now they have met. They talked about the film industry and then their shared love - fashion. Jennifer thinks the pair could be capable of developing a seriously sexy range."
